Verified means we restored it.
A valid ZIP and a convincing preview are not device evidence. A badge appears only after a current, reproducible run proves apply, all five interface surfaces, native controls, and Restore.
One badge. Six gates.
Every gate must pass in one versioned run. A stale commit, missing screenshot, failed control, or unproven Restore keeps the theme unverified.
- 01
Start stock
Open the unmodified Codex app first and record its version, operating system, and architecture.
- 02
Apply one theme
Use the current platform-specific upstream workflow and pin the exact upstream commit.
- 03
Inspect five surfaces
Capture Home, Task, Diff, Terminal, Settings.
- 04
Check native controls
Confirm navigation, composer, settings, and window controls still behave as stock Codex expects.
- 05
Restore stock
Run Restore, reopen Codex, and prove the official appearance and native controls returned.
- 06
Publish evidence
Publish redacted screenshots and a machine-readable log, then record SHA-256 for every artifact.
Public evidence ledger.
The ledger begins empty on purpose. Theme rows become Verified automatically only when their evidence record satisfies every gate above.
No themes have earned the badge yet.
The implementation is ready; the missing input is a repeatable site-owned macOS or Windows device run. Until that exists, every public theme remains honestly Unverified.

Verified is scoped to the recorded theme, Codex version, operating-system version, architecture, and upstream commit. It is not a permanent safety warranty, an official relationship, or proof that separate third-party executable code is trustworthy.
